The Godmothers: A Novel
This book pulled me right in, and then couldn't stop reading it! I was a bit apprehensive at first when I realized we were heading into Mafia-land, stories I tend to avoid for the violence. But soon circumstances sidelined the menfolk, and pushed the Godmothers to take the lead in finding a way to protect their families, their lives and livelihoods from all that threatened them. I enjoyed it a lot!
