Inspired by the magazine problem pages they read growing up in the 90s and 00s, in Ask Me Anything, The Paper Birds become the agony aunts. Using the real letters sent to the company, this verbatim show explores what young people think, want and worry about today.

Set in teenage bedrooms, this is a play about what different generations can learn from each other whist celebrating teenagers, grandparents and everyone in between, who, like us, are still figuring it all out.

About the Author

The Paper Birds was co-founded in 2003 by Bretton Hall graduates Jemma McDonnell and Kylie Perry. For the past 16 years they have been listening to, working with and drawing from the communities around them to create devised, verbatim theatre. Previous shows have included Thirsty, In a Thousand Pieces, Broke and Mobile. The company has won a number of awards including a Fringe First, Title Pending and Best of Prague Fringe. They have been shortlisted for awards including Amnesty International's Freedom of Expression Award, Total Theatre and The Stage Best Ensemble. The Paper Birds have partnered with Live Theatre, National Theatre Studio, The Roundhouse, The Junction and Battersea Arts Centre amongst others, to create bold, engaging political theatre.
