Amazing Animals...Right in Your Own Backyard
Join us on September 4 at 6 pm to experience an illustrated “chalk talk” by Ron Mills, retired naturalist and current president of the Peace River Audubon Society. In celebration of National Wildlife Day, Ron will present a fun look at the outdoor world, concentrating on the sights, sounds and little-known facts that surround the birds and other critters that enrich our lives here in Southwest Florida. And since this will be a “chalk talk,” Ron will be drawing the wildlife subjects as he’s giving his talk. This will be of interest to all ages. There will be a free drawing for Ron's artwork at the conclusion.
To RSVP for this free event, call (941) 205-2560 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our great selection of Florida field guides and other nature-related books will be on sale for the occasion, including children’s nature books!
As a naturalist for over 30 years with the Ohio state park system, Ron Mills combined his love of art and nature to tailor programs for audiences of all ages. Nowadays, he and his wife Tobi run Florida Reclaimed, recycling great old items to create new ones with a theme that depicts their passion for the "real" Florida. You can see Ron and Tobi in their booth every Saturday at the Farmer's Market in Downtown Punta Gorda. Ron also recently completed the murals at the popular Nav-A-Gator Bar and Grill in Arcadia.
