Sparks fly when Naya, a hard-working professor, lets Jake, a handsome stranger at a bar, buy her a drink (but only because it’s on her to-do list). This story was full of moments that were silly, sexy, fun, and oh so sweet; and Naya’s healing process after surviving intimate partner abuse was articulated in a kind and nuanced manner that I really appreciated. We need more stories like this!
I absolutely loved this pun filled story about not being afraid to ask for help, but also not being afraid to believe in yourself. The illustrations are adorable, and the story warms my heart every single time I read it! It’s truly a must read for all ages!
This sweet sex positive story is a unique gem! I laughed a lot while reading it, and found Clara and Josh to be oh so cute! While they definitely needed to have a heart to heart for a majority of the book, their own personal hang-ups were simultaneously realistic and heartbreaking, and by the end of the story I felt like I actually knew them as opposed to only having read about them in a book.
A story about love, guilt, second chances, our own pain and the pain we inherit, and how life is better if we look for little bits of magic wherever we can find them (especially if that magic is found in a vintage wedding dress, or from falling in love). THE SECOND CHANCE BOUTIQUE is a warm, ethereal book that’s a little haunting around the edges, and that reads like a modern day fairytale.
