Join us on Tuesday, November 14 at 6 pm to hear local author Libby Schaefer talk about her new book, Memoir of a Streetwalker: A Paripatetic Journey of Reduction. After her talk, Libby will be happy to sign copies of her books.
Libby's latest book is autobiographical. While the title might seem deceiving, it truly encompasses how she has always described herself...."a streetwalker in the nicest sense of the word." After teaching for 34 1/2 years, the last 11 in what she describes as a "sick building", and frequently taking high doses of steroids due to the pulmonary issues she suffered from high levels of mold, Libby retired early. She then began a walking regimen to regain her health and to lose the obesity that plagued her well being.
Memoir of a Streetwalker includes stories of her struggles and her walks everywhere, from her hometown in PA to Japan and stops on an around the U.S. trip and her adopted hometown of Punta Gorda. Readers are introduced to the people she meets along the way....her devotion to Weight Watchers, and her continued struggles as she faces new medical challenges.
Libby has written The Ladies of Punta Gorda, Memories of War: Women's Stories of Sacrifice and Struggle, and Cooking with Grandma.
Reservations are required. Call 941-205-2560 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
